Nature Sites in Belize
Visit Belize Botanical Gardens: See the black orchid, Belize's natural flower, has more than 45 acres of plants from all around the region, exotic trees. Learn about the native orchids and ancient herbal remedies.
Visit River of Caves with Seven Miles Cave Tubing: Float through vast subterranean labyrinths using an inflatable inner tube. Extra bonus is that you will take a beautiful scenic drive down Hummingbird Highway.
Historical Sites in Belize
Visit Cahal Pech Archaeological Site: The oldest Mayan site along the Belize River Valley. Enter and pass a beautiful butterfly garden. Explore the workplaces, homes, temples, palaces and play grounds of the ancient maya civilization.
Visit Xunantunich Archaeological Site: A royal tomb was discovered here covered with jade and obsidian stones. Get an aerial view of Belize and the Guatemalan hilltops.

See how fresh chocolate is made. Belize is one of the many leaders in producing cacao beans, the main ingredient for chocolate. From the farm to the roasting of the cacao bean you will get to see how chocolate is made and learn the health benefits of eating chocolate in its purest form.

Places to eat & drink in Cayo District, Belize
These are the only places I have tried while in Belize. I mostly had private chef meals prepared at the villa or resort, but check out these local spots for great Belizean food!
Try Belizean rice and beans: the stable to Belizean meals. The Cooling Rack restaurant inside of Cahal Pech Village Resort has great food including rice and beans.
Visit the Wine House in Cayo, San Ignacio for fine wines from all over the world.
Pop's Restaurant for authentic Belizean staples like fry jacks. They also serve breakfast all day.
Mahogany Hall Resort - Restaurant and Bar is open to the public.
Ms. Bertha’s Tamales - it is worth the drive for these tasty tamales along the roadside.
For fresh seafood visit Erva's.
For fresh bread and Belizean desserts visit the New French Bakery.
Hode's Place has a diverse menu from American to Belizean staples and ice cream.
