Things to do in South Island, New Zealand
Wine Country
New Zealand has an abundance of stunning wineries to drop in for tastings. Local favorites on the South Island include Chard Farm and Peregrine for wine tastings and lunch and wine at Aruka Winery.
Adventure
For the more adventurous, plenty of high-adrenaline activities are available. For example, you can go to one of the original bungee jumps over the Kawarau River or whitewater rafting with RealNZ. New Zealand is an actual adventure land.
Golfing
Golfers can head to Jack's Point for the 18-hole par 72 championship course on Lake Wakatipu.
Queenstown
Those looking for more city-type fun can skip across Queenstown Gardens and into the Queenstown Ice Arena with skating and bumper cars for all ages.
Day Trips
Milford Sound is a fantastic road trip! Overnight on an overnight cruise or on land at Milford Sound Lodge.
Te Anau is a stopover option en route from Queenstown and Fiordland Lodge offers all the World Heritage views!

Vudu Cafe: This is a local favorite for breakfast or lunch, serving seasonal delights and killer pancakes.

Amisfield: One of the local crown jewels, this restaurant features stunning views and gourmet food and wine. Fun fact: Prince William and the Dutchess dropped in here on their New Zealand tour.
