My travel style
I like to travel with a sustainable and ethical mindset. My first travel experience abroad was a 10 day sister city exchange program between my hometown and a small city now called Takeo in Japan – I have been enthralled with travel ever since. I'm interested in experiencing the culture of a place – particularly through food and connecting with locals – but I love to branch out into new adventures. Such as spontaneously getting invited to an underground metal scene in Vienna or going wine tasting on a bike in the countryside alongside the Danube. While some of my best experiences have been in hostels chatting with hostel owners, I also enjoy luxury hotels when traveling with my husband.
Favorite hotels
Recently returned from:
Eating at Alinea – a world-renowned, three Michelin-starred restaurant in Chicago.
Wine tasting in the Funk Zone in Santa Barbara.
Exploring cenotes and ruins in Costa Maya, Mexico.
Walking through Central Park in the pouring rain in NYC.
Dreaming of:
Ziplining through national parks in New Zealand.
Exploring the rainforests in Costa Rica and Ecuador.
Eating at street stands in Vietnam and Singapore.
Hiking the Machu Picchu Trail in Peru.
One thing I can't travel without...
A great pair of walking shoes – nothing beats being open to stumbling on an adventure while wandering a new place.
Two truths, one lie:
I got lost taking the train from Rome to Venice.
I slept under the stars in the deserts in Morocco and Israel.
I was too scared to try haggis in Scotland.
