My travel style

I have traveled on a shoestring budget and love finding affordable lodging and food, yet also enjoy a luxury hotel and spa after a long trekking adventure. I am always searching for the next adventure – usually outdoor based hiking trips with time spent in cities or towns before or afterwards, where I seek out the best food and drink to be had!

  • Trekking to Trolltunga and kayaking in the Fjords of Norway.

  • Eating and shopping my way through Paris. 

  • Experiencing all of the amazing white wines in Portugal while driving from Lisbon to Porto, then inland back to Lisbon. 

  • Road tripping from Anchorage to Fairbanks, Alaska with a lot of hikes along the way with a close friend.

Dreaming of:

  • The Himalayas of Northern India.

  • Bolivian Salt Flats. 

  • The rest of Scandinavia – Sweden, Denmark and Finland. 

  • Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro.

One thing I can't travel without...

Lotion – I can't stand it when my hands get dry after airplane flights or hand washing!

Two truths, one lie:

  1. I miscalculated and ran out of food when trekking New Zealand's Routeburn Trek. 

  2. I don't speak French and accidentally ordered offal in Paris. 

  3. I got stranded in Punta Arenas during a gas strike and almost missed my whole trekking adventure in Patagonia.
