Day 1: Casablanca
On the very first day of your trip, arrive and settle into your lodgings before walking around the Medina. After exploring the Medina for a bit, head on over to Hassan II Mosque, the second largest, functioning Mosque in Africa and the 7th largest mosque in the world.
Then, grab lunch while taking a tour of Quartier Habous, an open-air market also known as New Medina. It offers a variety of food and souvenir shopping options.
Finally, end the day with dinner at Al Mounia – a quiet and cozy traditional Moroccan restaurant.
A note from Fora
Please be mindful that non-Muslims may be prohibited from entering any religious spaces, or be respectful and abide by the rules set in place if they wish to visit a religious space.
Day 2: Marrakech
On day two, take a train from Casablanca to Marrakech – the train ride is about three and a half hours, so plan accordingly depending on the activities you have planned. Once you’ve arrived in Marrakech, check into your lodgings.
In the afternoon, check out Jardin Majorelle – a two and a half acre botanical garden and artist’s landscape garden. It also happens to be the Yves Saint Laurent mansion, for those interested in fashion! After a visit to Jardin Majorelle grab some lunch at a restaurant nearby before heading to Bahia Palace, a 19th century palace.
Finally, end the day by exploring the Medina and grabbing dinner at one of the many shops.
Day 3: Essaouira day trip
For day three, get up early and catch a bus to Essaouira – approximately a three hour ride from Marrakech. Spend the day exploring the port city and resort before heading back to your lodgings.
Some activities you can partake in are surfing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing. Information on these activities will be available at the port, or you can book online ahead of time.
Day 4: Marrakech
Cooking class
Start the day off with a cooking class arranged through this Airbnb property. You get to learn from some widely known Moroccan local chefs and cook some amazing, delicious traditional Moroccan dishes.
History
After your cooking class, be sure to check out Ben Yousseff Madrassa – an Islamic college that now functions as a historical site.
Visit the Saadian Tombs – the historic royal necropolis just south of Kasbah Mosque. Finally, to end off the day, have dinner in the desert.
A note from Fora
Again, a reminder to be mindful of the religious practices before entering religious places. In order to enter you may have to follow a dress code, so it is important to know which places require certain clothing before each day.
Day 5-8: Sahara glamping
Spend day five to day eight glamping in the Sahara, based on the travel package you choose. We would recommend booking through Desert Luxury Camp Morocco. They take care of everything – like planning day to day activities and driving to Fes.
Day 9 & 10: Fes
On day nine, arrive in Fes during the evening and check into your lodgings to relax for the rest of the night.
Spa time
The next day, start off with a visit to Fez Hammam and Spa to begin the morning on a relaxing note. Afterwards, head over to the Medina (city centre) to walk around and visit the shops.
Exploring the Medina
You can also do a free walking tour, if that piques your interest. This will help you get to know Fes and the surrounding area a bit more. Be sure to also check out the Chouara Tannery as well.
Visit the world’s first university, Mosque and University Karaouiyn, founded by a woman named Fatima al-Fihri. Finally, end the day with dinner at one of the local restaurants in the area.
Day 11: Chefchaouen day trip
Start the day with a bus trip from Fes to Chefchaouen, a four and a half hour trip. During your visit be sure to take a tour of the city, admiring the blue-washed buildings and amazing architecture reminiscent of ancient times.
Day 12: Fes
On your last day in Morocco, do a street food tour while exploring more areas in Fes before heading to Riad Fes Relais Rooftop Aperitivo for farewell festivities.
