I'm always searching for the off-the-beaten path gems that define a destination. I was a history teacher for nearly a decade and totally geek out over experiencing the things I've only ever seen in textbooks. You can usually find me in search of something I've never seen or trying something I've never done. All whilst soaking up the local vibes and staying at trendy locations.

Just east of the center in trendy Holborn, this high-style hotel mixes standout Brit service with sumptuous guestrooms and a hotspot restaurant.

Dramatically perched atop wind-swept dunes with expansive water views in every direction, the fully renovated Don CeSar is the crown jewel of Florida's Gulf Coast.
