Things to do in Nayarit
Playa Escondida in Islas Marietas: Discover this beautiful hidden beach within an island. Getting there is an adventure, so take a tour or go with a guide. Schedule this one in advance as they limit daily visitors to prevent over tourism.
Hike Monkey Mountain:Just outside of Punta Mita is Higuera Blanca where this trail starts. It's a moderate hike that ends in an amazing 360-degree view of the area. The indigenous Huichol people also see this as sacred space.
Visit San Pancho: This quiet town neighbors the lively Sayulita. Stop by for a day or an afternoon to enjoy the beaches and local cuisine at a laid back pace.
Playa Malpaso and Playa Carricitos: These are two lovely beach walks that are accessible from Sayulita.
