When we are the only "non-locals" at the restaurant, winery or other venue, we've got it right. There are amazing things to see and learn off the usual tourist routes.

  • Dining at Cafe do Fado in Lisbon – fine wine, good food and lovely music in an intimate atmosphere.

  • Exploring Dallas Arboretum’s magical 12 Days of Christmas display.

  • Watching craftspeople restore Viking ships in Roskilde, Denmark.

  • Viewing Mt. Rushmore and the Taj Mahal at Legoland with a Tuborg in hand.

Dreaming of:

  • More of Portugal. 

  • Copenhagen.

  • Lubbock, Texas for the Windmill Museum, Buddy Holly Museum and fine Texas wine at McPherson Winery.

  • Tangoing under the stars in Mendoza.

One thing I can't travel without...

My camera.

Two truths, one lie:

  1. We enjoyed beef tongue in Dijon, France. 

  2. I yodeled in Interlaken, Switzerland. 

  3. I waltzed in Vienna.
