About
I have traveled with four kids for 20 years. Now that they are grown, my wife and I are refining our travel style for a more elegant and adult experience.
Home airports
LAX or Burbank.
My travel style
When I get to a new city, the first thing I do is go the opposite way that all of the tourists are heading. Instead, I ask the locals where the best food is. If I were in LA, I wouldn't hit Venice Beach like everyone else – you would find me heading up the coast for the best fish tacos in Ventura.
Favorite hotels
Recently returned from:
Munching on late night fish and chips in Dingle, Ireland during a hailstorm.
Eating traditional Roman pastas in Italy.
Having a picnic during sunset at Mt. Tamalpais, Marin County to watch the marine layer rolling over coastal Bolinas while a drum circle played.
Eating lunch with wild iguanas on a drive from Miami to Key West.
Dreaming of:
I'd love to drive from California all the way to the tip of South America.
Istanbul Turkey after seeing Darcy & Stacy go to get their teeth whitened.
Every National Park.
Italy - always Italy - I want to see every region in every season and eat every local food.
One thing I can't travel without...
My travel vest, full of zippered pockets.
Two truths, one lie:
I lived with my parents around the world until high school and English was my 5th language.
After 10 years of training, I was recently awarded my Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under the training of Royce Gracie.
I followed the Grateful Dead around the country for five years in the 90s.
