Foodie's Guide to Visiting Savannah, Georgia

One of the best ways to learn about the most haunted places in Savannah is with a ghost tour in the back of a former hearse.

Another great way to spend your time while visiting Savannah is to take photos at the scenic fountain at Forsyth Park.

While it seems like the most touristy activity, a hop-on-hop-off bus tour is one of my favorite ways to explore a new city. You will pass the major highlights with the opportunity to stop and visit each one. Plus: you can 'hop off’ when you see a cute restaurant patio.

Day Trips from Savannah

Half an hour from downtown Savannah is stunning Tybee Island. Spend a half-day climbing the lighthouse and walking on the beach. Breath in the atmosphere and creative decor of the indoor/outdoor restaurant The Crab Shack while enjoying a seafood lunch. Look for the baby alligators outside!

The Olde Pink House may be the most iconic restaurant in Savannah. As my husband entered the "house," an employee whispered "get the fried chicken". Best. Advice. Ever. If you are unable to obtain a dinner reservation, walk in for lunch & sit at the bar. 

In my foodie travels, I love to discover a neighborhood restaurant where locals walk to eat & call their own. Noble Fare was this place for me in Savannah. We were surprisingly seated beside a college friend (local to Savannah) with whom I had plans the next day!

Wear your sparkles & enjoy a bottle of cava or cocktails in a cozy leather booth at Garibaldi’s. The diamond scored flounder is a must have!

Take a break from the Savannah heat for ice cream at Leopold’s. Join the line that includes students from Savannah College of Art & Design who add a creative side to this historic city.

Enjoy a leisurely walk around downtown Savannah & stop to taste the honey at Savannah Bee Company. Take some home for friends, family & to remember your trip!
