Curator’s statement
The paradisiacal beaches of the island of Aruba are true romantic heaven, one that also happens to be one of the more progressive, LGBTQ+ friendly destinations in the Caribbean. While same-sex relationships are legal in Aruba, same-sex marriage is yet to be legalized. However, the laidback island is very much an open and safe destination for gay individuals and couples, providing a worry and judge-free space to celebrate love and personal choices of all kinds. Despite that many gay clubs and bars closed throughout the pandemic in Aruba, it remains one of the top LGBTQ+ destinations in the southern Caribbean.

Things to do in Aruba
Aruba is one of the most beautiful Caribbean islands, with azure blue waters and an agreeable year-round climate. When you land on the island, enjoy its laissez-faire vibe to the fullest.
Explore the Island
When in Oranjestad, ride the local streetcar and get the authentic island living experience. Explore the San Nicolas Art District for colorful street art and murals.
Beach It
While your hotel is likely to be fronted by a stunning beach, you should also check out Eagle, Rodgers, Palm and Arashi beaches. You can also head out to Arikok National Park and swim at the natural pool.
Finally, you can't leave Aruba without stopping at Flamingo Beach, a unique beach where flamingos hang out on a white-sand Caribbean coast. It is a true wonder to see the gracious animals in their natural state.
Unique Dining Experience
When in Aruba, take advantage of the many dining offerings, from a romantic dinner on the beach to boat excursions, picnics and more. You can even take a several-day getaway to the Boardwalk Boutique Hotel Aruba Floating Brunch.
