About
Always in search of the next sip of something incredible and the next conversation with someone new. My travel tends to be spontaneous and my tastes impossible to define.
Home airports
EWR for United; LGA and JFK for anything else.
My travel style
For me, travel is about connecting and understanding the community I am in. I often avoid hotel and restaurant chains and instead search out ways to immerse myself locally. You can easily find me at a Michelin-starred restaurant one night, and a street food cart the following night.
Favorite hotels
Recently returned from:
Cooking class in Morocco.
Riding the rail for 30 days in 26 states.
Jumping into the Gulf of Finland after a sauna with the locals in Helsinki.
Learning about the various styles of graffiti in Bogota.
Dreaming of:
Observing the gorillas in the mountains of Rwanda.
Tasting the wine in the vineyards of Georgia.
Spending a few months exploring all of India.
Oklahoma! The only state I have never been.
One thing I can't travel without...
My iPhone – the digital wallet, camera and maps – the resources are endless!
Two truths, one lie:
The first Guinness I poured as a bartender in Galway, Ireland was quickly sent back for not enough head – never happened again.
I spent a grape harvest in Mendoza to better understand winemaking and improve my Spanish.
Wherever I travel, I always try to find a cooking class to better connect with the local cuisine and the people. My international cookbook has grown considerably.
