My travel style

My travel style is very much organized and type A-like. Every aspect regarding flight times, affordable hotels (no stranger to luxury though), excursions that require bookings are all well confirmed weeks, possibly months in advance. Once everything is locked in place and we arrive at our hotel safe and sound, I like to relax and then go with the flow and explore our new destination.

Favorite hotels

Hotel Chocolat

Spectacular eco-escape with direct views of the Pitons, plus an open-air restaurant and cocoa farm tours.

The Westin Dallas Downtown

A downtown go-to with enormous, smart suites and an indoor pool.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort, Riverside

Beside a purpose-built river, this huge Southern-themed resort has beautiful grounds and a kid-heaven pool complex.

Recently returned from:

  • Dallas to Philadelphia solo road trip.

  • Drama-filled family trip to Disney.

  • Bachelorette weekend in Miami.

Dreaming of:

  • Seychelles, South Africa, Kenya, Namibia, Morocco, Egypt.

  • Weekend in Napa Valley.

  • Studying in London.

  • Barcelona and Costa Brava, Spain.

One thing I can't travel without...

A great book.

Two truths, one lie:

  1. I've been witness to not one, but two hotel fires.

  2. My suitcase busted open all over the lobby at Penn Station.

  3. I'd live in a RV.
