I've had my fair share of grungy travel days. These days, I love guided tours by locals and tasting menus. I usually plan my trips half full so that there's room for magic.

The Chloe New Orleans

The Chloe is a lively 14-room hotel housed in a 19th century Uptown mansion, with 21st Century Southern hospitality.

Hôtel Peter and Paul

Old meets hip and modern at this former church complex turned one-of-a-kind hotel in the historic Marigny.

Hotel St. Vincent

Former orphanage reborn as an art-filled bolthole in the Lower Garden District

Recently returned from:

  • Exploring Bio Bay in Puerto Rico. 

  • Making Belizean Gumbo. 

  • Learning Spanish in Xela. 

  • Biking more than I ever thought I could in Croatia.

Dreaming of:

  • Salsa nights in Cuba. 

  • Sailing in Cape Town. 

  • Oysters in Maine. 

  • Angkor Wat for a heaping spoonful of awe.

One thing I can't travel without...

Sunscreen.

Two truths, one lie:
