About
Lover of the Old World and hopeless romantic. Native Texan turned full-time traveler – mainly based in Europe and the UK. Always hunting for hidden corners to wine and dine (preferably by candlelight).
Home airports
DFW for the US, but I usually find myself shuffling around Portela airport in Lisbon.
My travel style
Discovery, exploration, and beauty are what drive me in my travels. Whether that means strolling ancient cobblestone streets to find hidden, candlelit cafes or taking a last-minute flight to an island to luxuriate in its pristine sands, I am drawn to unique and quintessential experiences that one can only have when they're open to adventure. Travel is language, and I seek to be fluent in the world.
Favorite hotels
Recently returned from:
Eating my way through Rue Mouffetard in Paris.
Picnics along the Douro River overlooking the port houses of Porto.
Soaking in hot springs and getting way too full on volcanic stew in the Azores.
Magical palatial wanderings in Sintra.
Dreaming of:
The ryokans in Japan (with a side of sushi)!
Snowed in days in the chalets of Austria or Switzerland.
Eating and drinking my way through Lyon, France.
Exploring the ancient ruins of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Machu Picchu in Peru, and Göbeklitepe in Turkey.
One thing I can't travel without...
My Kindle – nothing better than cozying up to a good book on a long flight.
Two truths, one lie:
I flew a plane before I ever rode in one.
I spent Bastille Day dancing all night at a fireman’s station.
I never liked olives before I went to Spain.
