About
Experiential traveler looking for connection between people and places. I love a great hotel that offers insights into the city and has perks for the family. I am a Certified Travel Advisor and have traveled to over 30 countries and 15 US States.
Home airports
Stuttgart, Germany but soon to be Dulles.
My travel style
I want to understand where I'm at and how it fits into the world. Everyone is connected and travel helps us see how we as humans are more similar than we think. I like locally-owned hotels, restaurants, stores and wine which may come at a higher price but in the end is worth it. Sustainability and making a positive impact are a priority to me.
Favorite hotels
Recently returned from:
Skiing and enjoying New Year's fireworks in a valley in the Swiss Alps.
Exploring more than Bran Castle in Bucharest, Romania.
Slowing down in Former Yugoslavia with two small children.
Experiencing affordable luxury in Istanbul.
Dreaming of:
Azamara Cruise to seven Caribbean Islands.
Shenandoah Valley to see mountains and lakes.
Montana for some fresh air.
Guadalupe Valley to experience a new wine scene.
One thing I can't travel without...
A deeper understanding of where I am going and the history of the place.
Two truths, one lie:
I went on a 30 day road trip with two children under five years old in former Yugoslavia.
I have touched a gray whale off of Baja California.
I studied abroad in Florence, Italy.
