The Best of Anguilla: Resorts, Restaurants & More

If you're headed to the Caribbean, your top priorities are likely to relax and soak up the sun. Anguilla's 30+ beaches provide ample space and time to do just that, but there are also opportunities to explore the island by water, be active and take in the beauty of the island.

There are few better ways to see the island than from the water. Anguilla is flanked by both the Caribbean and Atlantic Oceans. I recommend boarding a boat and spending some time cruising around the island. You can do this on a catamaran sailboat for a more relaxing experience, or on a speedboat (expect fast driving, splashing water and some bumps!). I recommend doing this in the afternoon to allow for sunset viewing on your way back. While on the boat, enjoy a Rum Punch or Carib beer while you take in the sights! Be sure to stop for snorkeling and for a meal at Sandy Island. If you're feeling courageous do the Little Bay Cliff jump off the rock made famous by Lebron James!

For those who find sitting beach or poolside all day, every day somewhat difficult, Anguilla offers opportunities to get your body moving. Thinking of trying something new? Take kiteboarding lessons! Additionally, many hotels have tennis courts and offer clinics, lessons or free play. Some even have the same for pickleball! Golfers will find paradise at the Aurora golf course which features a beautiful complete 18-hole course.

No trip to Anguilla is complete without a visit to Bankie Banx's Dune Preserve Beach Bar! Voted CNN's #1 Beach Bar in the world, guests can enjoy a drink and mingle with tourists and locals alike, while listening to reggae artist Bankie Banx perform live seaside.

Anguilla has no lack of delicious spots to dine regardless of the time of day. Featuring many cuisines, local restaurants and resort restaurants alike are equally impressive and enjoyable!

Blanchard's Beach Shack was my absolute favorite spot on the island. In the seven days I stayed, I went for lunch twice, and would have gone more if I could! Located right on the beach, be sure to try their jerk chicken sandwich! Even better, try the crispy chicken sandwich with jerk sauce and a frozen margarita. Top it off with home-baked chocolate chip cookies!

Picante is a super yummy, super popular and super fun addition to any vacation. Complete with colorful tablecloths and white benches, Picante offers Mexican fare in a relaxed and casual setting.

Sharky's is a crowd favorite for local cuisine. A fun experience with great service, and occasional live music. Be sure to try the lobster cakes!

Café Celeste, at the Malliouhana, features high-quality cuisine in a beautifully decorated, nautical-themed, restaurant. It is impossible to recommend one item because every dish we had, from the bread to our desserts, was top-notch. Try to go around sunset for optimal views!

Jacala is a quiet beachside restaurant serving dishes with French influences and a Caribbean twist.

Veya is located in a unique treehouse-like setting where all the tables are situated on a wrap-around porch. Enjoy a wide variety of cocktails and delectable menu items above the Moroccan-themed cocktail lounge, Meze, which often features live music.

Salt is a great option if you're looking for a fine dining experience or have a special occasion to celebrate. Located right above the ocean the Four Seasons, Salt gets it all right from the welcome drink all the way through to the mouth-watering chocolate lava cake.

Mango's is a popular local spot for lunch and dinner right on the beach, and another excellent place for sunset. Among their many wonderful dishes, check out the lobster prepared two ways.
