Things to do in Aruba
If you're looking for a place to rest and relax in the warm sunshine, Aruba is the place to be!
During the day, many of the resorts offer various fitness classes like stand up paddle boarding, aqua aerobics, beach volleyball, cycling tours and much more. Take advantage of fun water sports like kayaking or for even more adventure, explore the sea through snorkeling or scuba diving. For a private cruise, schedule a catamaran tour!
Whether you are at Eagle Beach or Palm Beach, you can relax by the ocean in your private cabana, just make sure to bring a float with you (it's a staple in Aruba!).
One must go place is Renaissance Island (access is included in your stay at the Renaissance Wind Creek Resort) where you take a 10 minute complimentary boat taxi to the private island.
Here, you'll find two private beaches (one exclusively is adults only) and if you go early in the morning you may see the flamingos.
Pro tip: make sure to bring change so you can feed them and the fish below.
After you soak up the sun, make sure to explore the downtown area of Palm Beach with plenty of stores and places to shop.
If you'd like to try your luck, check out the various casinos located within the hotels. Then enjoy the absolutely incredible cuisines that Aruba has to offer. Just make sure to make dinner reservations a month or so in advance; things book up very quickly!
A note from Katie
A few tips to help make your trip to Aruba as seamless as possible. Bring the following:
1. Refillable water bottle – Most hotels have refill stations.
2. Sunscreen – & lots of it! You will pay much more once on the island.
3. Inflatable pool float – Everyone uses them in Palm Beach to float in the ocean. Be sure to bring an easily inflatable/deflatable one.
4. Have money on hand – Make sure to have money with you before you get to the airport. Once you get to Aruba, they will charge you $10 per transaction in addition to US charges.
5. Rental car – Decide whether or not you'd like a rental car or not. If you plan to travel throughout the island and try various restaurants, it may be best to rent a car. If you choose to forgo a rental car and only use taxis, restaurants will call them ahead of time, so you have someone to take you home.
Places to eat & drink in Aruba
Lola Taqueria: One of our favorite places. great breakfast, lunch and dinner spot in one right in Palm Beach! Amazing tacos, cocktails & they also double as a craft coffee bar (they also have vegan milk options!). Taco Tuesday is a big hit with $1 taco specials. Great ambiance and amazing food!
Screaming Eagle: A quiet & romantic spot perfect for couples celebrating a special occasion. Some of our favorites were the shrimp and chorizo tacos & lobster bisque soup.
Flying Fishbone: A waterfront restaurant where you have the option to sit with your feet in the water in an ocean side table. Lots of steak and seafood options with plenty of local fish specials.
Madame Janette: Beautiful live music & great atmosphere inside a garden. Incredible menu with many options for steak and fish.
Atardi: Located right on Palm Beach in front of the Marriott. Sitting with our feet in the sand under the stars at a private beach front cabana table was truly incredible. Our favorites were the beef tenderloin & mahi mahi.
Brutto Beach House: Great vibe and incredible fresh seafood and sushi options. make sure to go early as it's quite popular!
Elements @ Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort: Very quiet and serene atmosphere with beach front dining. Be sure to ask for a private table on the beach!
