My travel style

I am a curious, well-researched and ambitious traveler! My trips are often conceived around a specific point of intrigue, be it a smoldering volcanic island, a chef or artist, a cultural tradition or places from a favorite memoir. It could be architecture, beaches, magical forests, fashion design or a geological phenomenon. Whatever the inspiration, I research and curate travel itineraries at a pace that is comfortable for the intended desires with some windows of time open to allow for organic exploration and discoveries. While all of my journeys are unique from each other and transformational in their own way, they all share a few characteristics in common – genuine immersion in the local culture, a design-centric lens, amazing food and a balance of city and nature, history and modernity. I am a connoisseur of boutique hotels, finding those accommodations that offer an elevated lens and design-centric digs specific to the local culture.

Favorite hotels

Recently returned from:

  • Road-tripping and beach-hopping through Italy's Puglia region.

  • Island-hopping in the Dodecanese Islands.

  • Soaking up the sun in the best beaches of Rhodes.

  • Vintage shopping in Ghent.

Dreaming of:

  • Egypt – Nile, Cairo, Luxor.

  • Morocco – Marrakech, Fez, Casablanca.

  • Swiss Alps – St. Moritz, Zermatt, Zürich.

  • Bilbao, Spain.

One thing I can't travel without...

Camera.

Two truths, one lie:

  1. I traveled 6,684 mi (10,756 km) to taste the best cannoli in the world.

  2. Once while trekking the treacherous drive up Mt Olympos, on the island of Karpathos, there were heavy rainstorms, three earthquakes and loose boulders rolling down the mountain into the road.

  3. Of all my favorite artists (living or passed), I have traveled the most to see Basquiat's body of work.
