I like my travel to be an equal mix of action and relaxation. I prefer organizing my own adventures rather than being on a formal tour, although I do like to have a point of contact in the country to lean on if needed. I like to leave a few days unplanned and ask locals I meet for recommendations. I have found this often results in more nuanced suggestions and unexpected surprises. I also like to do multi-country trips (time allowing) to countries that are not so large that I feel rushed through any one country. Prior to any trip, I learn all that I can from all sources so I can plan a trip incorporating all the things I love – physical activity, café hopping, being on the water and experiencing the culture. I am more of a tapas girl than a full-on foodie! I would rather spend money on local fashions and art than on a Michelin-starred dinner, although I do like a good bottle of wine! I prefer being outdoors and, more than likely, you will find me somewhere with a view, trying to engage a local in conversation and living in the moment!
