Curator’s statement
A warm dive destination that's just a short flight from Europe, Aqaba is not on many people's must-visit list. But with Petra and Wadi Rum a short drive away, Aqaba is more than just a diving destination.

Things to do Jordan
Go diving in the Red Sea
With its tranquil waters and empty beaches, Aqaba rivals the more well known Egyptian dive sites in Hurghada and Sharm El Sheik. Top sites include the Cedar Pride, Japanese Garden, Seven Sisters and the C130 Hercules Aircraft.
Snorkel over a tank
If diving is not your thing, Aqaba is a great place to snorkel, with plenty of coral and sea life, warm water, shallow entry points, and, oh did I mention a real-life sunken tank?
Visit the ancient city of Petra
This is a once-in-a-lifetime bucket list experience that surpassed all of my expectations. Beats any building in Europe in my opinion.
Spend a night stargazing in Wadi Rum
Barren landscapes that have lent their desert hues to films like The Martian and Star Wars.
Miscellaneous things to do in Aqaba
Explore Jordan's history at the Archeological Church of Aqaba or wander Aqaba's spice markets.
