Belize
A haven for beach- and nature-lovers, little Belize packs a punch with miles of white-sand coastline, little-explored nature reserves and romantic boutique hotels.
Belize travel tips
Great question! It depends on what you’re looking for in a Belize vacation. If you’re wanting a beach vacation, Ambergris Caye is one of the best spots. Not only does it have gorgeous Caribbean beaches, it’s also a prime location for scuba divers and snorkelers to explore the Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Great Blue Hole. If an exotic jungle adventure is more your vibe, there’s plenty of rainforest to explore. The Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve has some really special spots where you can be as adventurous or off the grid as you’d like. One of the things we love most about a trip to Belize is that you don’t have to choose between a jungle or beach experience – you can split your time between both!
You want to stay at the best of the best on your Belize vacation? We like your style! Belize’s luxury resorts are incredible, ranging from eco-resorts in the lush jungle to private islands. For a remote jungle paradise, look no further than Balcaneaux Lodge, one of the best Belize all-inclusive resorts. Owned by The Godfather of all filmmakers, Francis Ford Coppola, this Belize all-inclusive hotel has luxurious villas, rainforest hiking (you’ll spot incredible wildlife!) and cascading waterfalls. It’s off the grid and totally worth the trek. With some of the best diving in the world, divers and snorkelers come to Belize to explore the Hol Chan Marine Reserve and of course, the famous Great Blue Hole. Las Terrazas on Ambergris Caye is the best San Pedro Belize resort, with close proximity to Belize’s Barrier Reef and beautiful white sand beaches. Then there’s Cayo Espanto – one of the best Belize beach resorts. If you’re looking for an all-inclusive Belize vacation on a private island, this one can’t be beat. Many of the hotels in Belize have sister properties on the beach and in the rainforest. If you want to experience the best of both worlds, your Fora advisor can recommend the best Belize vacation packages.
Hands down, the best months for a Belize vacation are the tail-end of November, December, January, February, March and the beginning of April – aka dry season! During the dry season Belize resorts are bathed in the warm, tropical sun and postcard perfect blue skies. This is also the best time for divers to explore Belize’s Barrier Reef, when its water is at its clearest.
Your Fora advisor can alert you to Belize’s specific entry and exit requirements for your Belize vacation and you can also check out official government websites for more information. Currently, there are no Belize travel restrictions in place for US travelers. Some of the entry requirements include: a passport valid for the length of your stay and proof of an onward or return ticket.
