Things to do in Dublin
Trinity Library and the Book of Kells: Stepping into the Library is like stepping back in time to the 1600's.
The Cobblestone: "A drinking bar with a music problem" is how the owner best describes this little gemstone of a pub. Here you'll listen to gatherings of musicians, who bring their instruments to enjoy a jam session over a few pints of Smithwicks.
The Guinness Storehouse: A cannot-miss experience in the Guinness brewery. The entire place smells like chocolate and barley as you wander through a fantastic museum learning the history of Guinness. The end of your tour is always topped off by enjoying a pint at their top of city views in their rooftop Gravity Bar.
Temple Bar District: Best known for its lively music scene, I suggest spending at least one night pub-crawling through the cobblestone streets while you gather with people from all over the world to enjoy Irish pub life.
Jameson Distillery is a must do for Whiskey Lovers. On a distillery tour, you'll learn about how their Irish Liquor is distilled and the rich history that has taken over the world with their liquid gold. Pro tip: spend the extra few euros for the tasting tour.
Take a day trip out to Kilkenny. A small medieval town, with a castle to explore and cute shops to enjoy wandering through during an easy Irish afternoon.
Go to the Salt Baths! A few miles out of town, easily accessible by train is an oasis of rock salt caves, that are so relaxing and a wonderful way to warm up on a dreary afternoon.
If you're into nature, the Wicklow gap just outside of Dublin, is wonderful to hike around. As you walk you stumble upon ancient churches and rock formations, be sure to take in the natural beauty of your surroundings while you are exploring.
Day Trips from Dublin
The cliffs of Moher, Waterford to see where Waterford Crystal is made.
Places to eat & drink in Dublin
Enjoy a Michelin-starred dinner at The Greenhouse, where the menu constantly changes with the seasons.
High Tea at the Shelbourne. Treat yourself to a delightful tea time experience, with top notch service, and delicious high tea bites, you simply must go.
The Beanhive for a quick breakfast, and the best and cutest cappuccino in Dublin.
The Bank on College Green is wonderful for a hearty meal. This building was a bank in the early 1900's, and the pub kept the decor! It's truly a sight to see while you enjoy a meat pie, or some fresh oysters.
The Brazen Head is the oldest pub in Dublin, it has been continuously run from the 1100's AD. The food is good, the music is excellent.
