Things to do
There are a plethora of fun things to do in a Rehoboth Beach getaway that will pique the interest of all visitors.
For the full outdoors experience, check out Delaware Seashore State Park and Cape Henlopen State Park, where visitors can go on hiking trails, specifically Gordons PondHiking Trail — another famous one is the six-mile Junction and Breakwater Trail — or take a tour of the Fort Miles Historical Area to witness a historical lighthouse.
For the whole family, there are plenty of attractions to keep not only you and your partner entertained, but your kiddies as well. Catch live music at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand or watch a play at the Clear Space Theater.
Then, ride the Jolly Trolley to Jungle Jim’s — made for family fun — with giant water slides and lazy rivers at their water park, go-karts and mini-golf courses. There’s also Funland, a smaller amusement park, right of the boardwalk with family-friendly rides and games.
For the foodies, take a 2.5-hour walking food tour with Eating Rehoboth and discover incredible sights and tastes of the East Coast. Between the months of May and October, Rehoboth Beach hosts a seasonal farmer’s market that showcases fresh foods and products from local vendors.
If tax-free shopping sounds exciting, the Tanger Outlets are nearby with a wide selection of commercial brand stores. However, if you’re looking for eclectic shops, art galleries and local businesses, check out Penny Lane Mall, between Rehoboth Ave and Wilmington Ave, or the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk, a famous mile-long boardwalk.
Alternatively, you can spend the day exploring the many Delaware beaches by cruising the coastal highway and absorbing views of the Atlantic Ocean. If you are looking for a less crowded option, check out Deauville Beach or head down to Dewey Beach to get paddle board or kayak rentals in Rehoboth Bay.
If that’s not enough, take a short 20-minute drive to Bethany Beach in Southern Delaware or head North to Lewes Beach for beach-combing.
Eat & drink
Whether you’re walking the Rehoboth boardwalk or taking a stroll down buzzing Rehoboth Avenue, you won’t be short on options to choose from, whether it’s a cold beverage, ice cream or a bite to eat. Here are some of the best places to eat and drink in Rehoboth Beach:
COFFEE & BREAKFAST
Egg Rehoboth: A boutique cafe serving breakfast and lunch.
LUNCH & DINNER
Salt Air: An upscale locally-sourced restaurant. Note that reservations are required.
Chesapeake & Maine: Best spot for seafood and cocktails at Dogfish Head.
Houston White Co. Steakhouse: A fine-dining farm to table steakhouse, offering a selection of dishes.
Thrasher’s French Fries: Yes, there is an entire restaurant focused on french fries, and yes, you should go.
DRINK
Dogfish Head Brewery: Try the different ales and brews Dogfish has to offer, all Delaware-made.
Dogfish Head Distillery: Besides the brewery, Dogfish also offers a wide array of spirits and canned cocktails. It’s the state’s first legal distillery in 1995 and a token in Rehoboth’s nightlife scene.
DESSERT
Kohr Bros. Frozen Custard: Original frozen custard company in Rehoboth that is a must-try.
