Things to do in the Cayman Islands
When in Cayman, resort relaxation is your top priority. Pick a resort on the beach that suits your fancy and enjoy your days sipping drinks by the pool, taking dips in the warm, crystal clear ocean, and catching the sunset over delicious food. It’s your vacation, after-all, and you deserve it!
When you’re feeling adventurous (which really means getting off your beach bed and putting your drink down), head over for a walk to the Seven Mile Beach where you can see all the resorts.
Next, you can venture out into the wildlife… Wander over to Starfish Point on the opposite side of the island from your resort and marvel at the multi-colored starfish basking in the shallow waters. For more sealife, Stingray City offers snorkeling with the stingrays at the Grand Cayman sandbar and exploring the nearby reefs. This is a perfect outing for families traveling with kids or those who just love sea animals!
Finally, to wrap up a wonderful time, head over to Camana Bay for some shopping and restaurants. And if that’s not enough, you can also stop off in "Hell" to see some incredible black limestone formations coming out of the lush surroundings of the island.
Places to eat & drink in the Cayman Islands
The Cayman Island resorts all have wonderful restaurants and various options to choose from, but if you’re ready to venture away from your hotel, you can try these options:
Chicken!Chicken!: Serves simple, roasted chicken dishes and a local favorite.
Cayman Cabana: Caribbean and Caymanian fare on a patio overlooking the beautiful sea.
Craft F&B Co: Gastropub for local brews and international foods like falafel, curry over rice and poutine for a change of pace.
Icoa: Close to the Marriott resort, this casual restaurant is located in a strip mall and has a great breakfast spread.
Guy Harvey's: A great lunchtime spot in Georgetown, serving Caymanian specialities, salads, sandwiches and sushi.
Lobster Pot: One of the island's best known and fanciest restaurants serving a wide array of seafood and local ingredients overlooking the water.
Luca: If you're looking for Sunday brunch, try this modern Italian spot.
A note from Rabia
Whenever dining out, opt for seafood and Caribbean cuisine – the fish is so fresh and delicious!
